SHOCKING SCENES IN AGIOI APOSTOLOI AREA CHANIA

NEW VULGAR ANIMAL MALTREATMENT

The children of the elementary school in Chania were shocked, when during an excursion in Agioi Apostoloi, they saw a dog covered in blood ,cruelly abused by sickly minded people, who tied with chain its genetic organs.

The teachers notified the president of Animals Welfare Association of Chania “The Protection of Animals” Natassa Bobolaki and the Association’s volunteer Tatiana Stankovits went there, found the bleeding dog half dead and transferred it to a cooperating with the Association veterinary clinic. The Association will press charges against unknown persons. Tatiana Stankovits, who together with another volunteer searched and found the dog, reported to the Association: “We were notified by the teachers of the school, who saw the bleeding dog. Since the children were shocked and terrified, they took them back to the school, leaving the dog helpless. When we found the dog, it was half dead and covered in blood. I noticed though that its eyes were reacting and because it has lost a lot of blood, it had hypothermia. I immediately transferred it to the vet to be looked after.”

THE SAME PERPETRATOR FOR THE DECAPITAED DOG?

In accordance with Mrs. Stankovits the dog will most probably survive, despite its heavy injuries. But it is not the only incident in Agioi Apostoloi.

“For me, what happened is extremely shocking. The occurrence, which is not the first one, created a lot of confusion to animal lovers, who are sensitive on these aspects. In the same area, not long ago I found a decapitated dog. Also they throw poison in the same area, where a lot of people and children go for athletics. I informed some policemen in the area, but is it probably necessary to act in a more organized way? In the same area a lot of atrocious incidents have taken place. The Police are well informed. What do they do though?” The same lady appealed to all citizens not to abandon the animals, but “it is preferable to address to an Animal’s Welfare Association or Shelter for hostage”. Also, if people observe any suspicious actions, inform immediately the Police.
